13 — Activity tracker

Two trackers, side by side. Our heatmap blends documented enforcement baselines with live news mentions. ICE in My Area shows community-reported real-time sightings — report directly there.

01
Live News Heatmap
Per-state count of news mentions over 7/30/90 days, aggregated from 100+ sources (Google News, NYT, ProPublica, Guardian, ACLU, regional outlets, Reddit). Live — updated each visit.

READ THE NUMBERS HONESTLY: The map shows news mentions Google indexes — heavily throttled and deduped. Click any state for the structural truth (annual arrests, detention beds, advocacy contacts). ICE conducts ~150,000 administrative arrests per year nationally; Google News surfaces a tiny fraction of that.

15 — Know Your Rights

If ICE shows up, you have rights.

At your door, your job, or your courthouse — these four rules cover most situations. Read them now. Save the hotline. Share with your family.

Rule 01

Don't open the door.

You are not required to open your door for ICE. Speak through the door. Ask: "Do you have a warrant signed by a judge?" An ICE administrative warrant (Form I-200) does not allow them to enter your home.

Rule 02

Stay silent.

You have the right not to answer questions about where you were born, your immigration status, or how you entered the country. Say: "I am exercising my right to remain silent." Anything you say can be used against you.

Rule 03

Ask for a lawyer.

If detained, say "I want to speak to a lawyer" and stop talking. Don't sign anything you don't understand. You have the right to make a phone call.

Rule 04

Call the hotline.

For employers & businesses

If ICE shows up at your workplace.

Employers and businesses have rights too. You can:

  1. Require a judicial warrant signed by a judge before allowing ICE access to non-public areas.
  2. Refuse to answer questions about specific employees, their schedules, or their immigration status.
  3. Refuse consent to search non-public areas (back offices, break rooms, storage).
  4. Post "Know Your Rights" signs visibly for all employees in their primary languages.
